Training

Gennie read Music at The University of Nottingham before completing postgraduate clarinet and bass clarinet studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where she held a Trinity College London Scholarship.

Engines Orchestra

In 2014, Gennie became clarinet/bass clarinettist of Engines Orchestra, with which she has recorded an award-winning album and performed at many of the UK’s top venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, London Jazz Festival and Manchester Jazz Festival. 

soundSPARK

Gennie is the bass clarinettist and founder of soundSPARK, an innovative chamber group of musicians that is passionate about bringing the highest level of music making to all areas of the UK. soundSPARK plays music across a wide variety of genres and styles, from classical and contemporary music to pop and jazz favourites. Alongside performances, soundSPARK is dedicated to bringing high quality education projects to schools, hubs and communities around London and beyond.

The Ashdown Duo

Gennie is also the co-founder and clarinettist of The Ashdown Duo, a woodwind duo who regularly perform as artists for Music in Hospitals and Care, playing concerts in care settings around London and the South East.
